Meet the Jess
behind the mess

As an 80's kid growing up in the Midwest, I earned the nickname, Jessica the Mess-ica. My parents claim it's because my room was always a disaster, but I prefer to think it was just a product of my never-ending curiosity.

Since I can remember, I've been on a quest to make. Always exploring new mediums, creating objects all my own and, more often than not, leaving a mess in my wake.

To me, making is more than a hobby, it's part of who I am. Without a project, I can start to feel lost. Making grounds me while simultaneously letting me escape. Overcoming the challenge of trying something new brings me joy. The fact that you're here means there's a good chance that you might be like that, too.

So whether this is your first time exploring the blog, or you're a frequent visitor, I'd like to say thank you. Thank you for letting me be a part of your making journey and it's my sincere hope that I can help inspire you in some small way, as so many others have inspired me. Now, let's get messy.
